Bilaspur, July 24:
The critically injured victims of the tragic HRTC bus accident in Sarkaghat have been shifted to AIIMS Bilaspur for advanced treatment. On Thursday, Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri visited the hospital to inquire about their condition and express his condolences.

Calling the incident deeply distressing, the Deputy CM said that seven people lost their lives in the accident, while several others sustained injuries.

He informed that five critically injured passengers, including a child, are currently being treated at AIIMS under the supervision of specialist doctors. Other injured passengers are being treated at Nerchowk Medical College, and if required, they will also be shifted to AIIMS for further care.

Preliminary reports suggest the accident may have occurred due to a road collapse (subsidence of a roadside embankment), he said. However, a thorough investigation will be conducted to determine the exact cause. He directed officials to examine all aspects of the incident carefully and assured that strict action will be taken if negligence is found at any level.

The Deputy CM also stated that he will soon visit Sarkaghat to personally assess the situation. Expressing heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, he assured that the government stands firmly with the victims in this hour of grief.

He wished the injured a speedy recovery and pledged all possible assistance from the state government. Following the incident, both the administration and health department were put on high alert, and rescue operations have been intensified to ensure timely aid and relief.
