Alto Car Plunges Into Gorge in Pooh, Kinnaur — 27-Year-Old from Shimla Died, Another Injured

A tragic road accident occurred on Wednesday morning in the Pooh subdivision of Kinnaur district, claiming the life of a 27-year-old man from Shimla and seriously injuring another. The incident took place around 11:14 a.m. near Gyabugang Bodang Nallah, when an Alto K10 (registration HP 25A 1921) lost control and plunged into a deep gorge.

The car was occupied by Vijay Kumar (33), son of Karam Singh, a resident of Bajwa village, Post Office Mashnu, Tehsil Rampur, District Shimla, and Sachin Bisht (27), a resident of Chewari, Post Office Dajnol, Tehsil Nankhari, District Shimla.

Following the accident, locals and emergency teams rushed to the site and both victims were given first aid before being taken to CHC Pooh. Unfortunately, Sachin Bisht succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Vijay Kumar remains in critical condition and is currently undergoing medical care.

Local police reached the scene and have registered a case. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident occurred due to the vehicle going out of control. Further inquiry is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the crash.
