Major Alert: Bomb Threat to Nahan Court Complex, Police on High Alert
Shimla, July 9:
Panic gripped the district headquarters of Sirmaur on Wednesday morning after an email threatening to blow up the Nahan Court Complex with a bomb was received. Acting swiftly, local authorities and police evacuated the entire premises and tightened security in and around the complex.
Confirming the incident, Additional Superintendent of Police Yogesh Rolta told MBM News Network that the threatening email was sent directly to the court in the morning. Police were alerted around 10:15 a.m., shortly after the court opened. In response, all court employees, lawyers, and visitors were safely evacuated, and deployed police personnel were also moved out as a precaution. Preliminary information suggests the email may have referenced pro-Khalistan sentiments. While the email was reportedly received at 6 a.m., the threat came to light once the court began functioning.
A four-member bomb disposal squad was dispatched to the site and is currently conducting a thorough search of the premises. No suspicious object has been found so far, but the search continues with utmost caution. Meanwhile, a cybercrime team has been mobilized to trace the origin of the email and determine the source of the threat.
This is the first time such a threat has been made against the Nahan Court Complex. The facility houses multiple courts, making it a high-footfall zone on a daily basis. The incident has emerged as a serious security concern for the local administration.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation, and a detailed investigation is underway from all angles. The administration has urged the public to remain calm, avoid spreading rumors, and assured that the situation is completely under control, with robust security measures in place.
