Shimla, 18 June – Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today inaugurated two major infrastructure projects in Theog, Shimla district: a new bus terminal built at a cost of ₹14.84 crore and the ₹23 crore APMC Fruit and Vegetable Marketing Complex at Shilaru.
Addressing a public gathering, the Chief Minister said the bus terminal provides modern amenities for passengers and HRTC staff, along with ample parking—fulfilling a long‑standing local demand. The Shilaru marketing facility, he added, will give farmers fair prices, reduce travel time, and cut transport costs by bringing better marketing services closer to their doorsteps.

Upgraded roads linking Nishani–Pali Parantla (₹13.35 cr), Koyal–Bashla (₹9.51 cr), Katar–Khadvī (₹4.24 cr) and Wazir Bawdi–Thachwa (₹6.17 cr).

A Nature Interpretation & Service Centre at Jalori Jot (₹6.28 cr) and a 10 kW solar‑charging system near Bashleu Jot (₹0.74 cr).

Mr Sukhu also pledged funding to complete the Theog Mini‑Secretariat, open an HRTC sub‑depot and workshop in Theog, and convert the old bus‑stand site into a shopping complex. The government will fully fund the pending Kurpan drinking‑water project, he said, and continue improving facilities at Theog Hospital.
Broader Vision
Highlighting wider initiatives, the Chief Minister noted that ₹1,350 crore will be invested in advanced medical technology at IGMC Shimla and Tanda Medical College. He also said that Shinkpi‑La on the China border has been opened to tourists, and the state is pursuing a Kailash Mansarovar route via Shinkpi‑La as part of its drive for self‑reliance. A ₹26 crore winery at Parala Mandi is also in the pipeline to benefit orchardists.
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri confirmed that ₹5 crore had been released earlier to complete the bus terminal and that the Kurpan water project, now 90 per cent funded, will soon be finished. Agriculture Minister Chaudhary Chander Kumar applauded the “double‑engine” of CM and Deputy CM for accelerating development in Theog.
MLA and AICC Secretary Kuldeep Singh Rathore thanked the Chief Minister for ensuring adequate funding after the 2023 natural disasters disrupted local works. He urged the state to press the Centre on apple‑import restrictions to protect Himachali growers.
The event was attended by senior officials, local representatives and state‑run corporation heads, who hailed the projects as pivotal steps toward a greener, more self‑sufficient Himachal Pradesh.
