Shimla, June 17 – Himachal Pradesh has begun experiencing pre-monsoon showers, bringing much-needed relief from the summer heat. According to the latest forecast, light to moderate rainfall is expected across most parts of the state over the next five days, with temperatures likely to dip further after June 20.

Shobhit Katiyar, a meteorologist at the Meteorological Centre in Shimla, said that pre-monsoon activity will persist in the state through June 22. Between June 20 and 22, some areas may receive heavy rainfall, prompting the issuance of a yellow alert.

The southwest monsoon is likely to make its official arrival in Himachal around June 25, he added.
