Eight IAS Officers Given Additional Charge in Himachal Pradesh
Shimla, June 16:
In a move aimed at ensuring smooth functioning of the state administration, the Himachal Pradesh government has assigned additional responsibilities to eight senior IAS officers. This temporary measure comes in light of certain officials currently being on leave. The Department of Personnel has issued an official notification, making the orders effective immediately.
As per the notification:

Dr. Abhishek Jain, already serving as Secretary for Public Works, Finance, Planning, Economics & Statistics, and the 20-Point Programme, has now also been appointed as Secretary to the Chief Minister.

M. Sudha Devi, Secretary of Health, Family Welfare, and Personnel, will now also oversee the departments of Power, Non-Conventional Energy Sources, and Education.

C. Paulrasu, currently handling Administrative Reforms, Training, F.A., RPG, Cooperation, Horticulture, and Agriculture, will take on Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs as additional responsibilities.

Ritesh Chauhan, Secretary of Animal Husbandry, has been given Transport and Industries as additional charges.

Rajesh Sharma, Secretary for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, and General Administration, has now been entrusted with Parliamentary Affairs, Administrative Reforms, and Social Justice & Empowerment departments.

Rahil Kaulon, in addition to his current responsibilities for AYUSH and DT&Gs, will now also handle Technical Education, Jal Shakti (Water Resources), Information & Public Relations, Language, Art & Culture, and will serve as Divisional Commissioner, Shimla.

Dr. Richa Verma, Managing Director of Himachal Handicrafts & Handlooms Corporation, will now also take charge of Himachal Food & Processing Marketing Corporation, Himachal Agro Industries Corporation, and Himachal Agro Industrial Packaging India Ltd.

Rakesh Kumar Prajapati, currently serving as Director (Energy), has been given the additional role of Managing Director, Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Ltd.
The government has directed all officers to hold these additional charges until the respective officials return from leave or regular postings are reassigned.
