Solan, June 14: The Solan police have made significant progress in a theft case with the arrest of a fifth suspect involved in the crime. The accused was apprehended in Ludhiana, Punjab, where he had allegedly sold the stolen pipes. With this latest arrest, police have recovered 20 stolen pipes and are continuing their investigation.

The theft case was registered under the jurisdiction of Solan’s Sadar Police Station. During the course of the investigation, police discovered that the previously arrested suspects had sold the stolen pipes to the owner of a motorcycle spare parts shop in Ludhiana. The shop belongs to Vikas Kumar (33), son of Gulshan Kumar, a resident of New Jattanagar, Ludhiana.

Acting swiftly, a team from Sadar Police Station detained Vikas Kumar in Ludhiana and questioned him. During the interrogation, police recovered 20 stolen pipes from his shop. He has been booked under Section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNSS) 2023.

So far, five individuals have been arrested in connection with the case. Investigators believe the accused may be part of a larger organized network involved in selling stolen goods across different locations. Efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend additional suspects linked to the gang.

Superintendent of Police, Solan, commended the investigating team for their prompt and effective action. He also urged the public to report any suspicious activity to the police without delay.
