Shimla, June 11:
The sweltering heat has spared neither the plains nor the hills, with several parts of Himachal Pradesh reeling under intense temperatures. Residents in Una, Kullu, Mandi, Hamirpur, and Bilaspur are bearing the brunt of a severe heatwave. In the past 24 hours, Una recorded the highest temperature in the state at 44.2°C.

According to Sandeep Kumar Sharma, a scientist at the Met Centre, heatwave conditions are expected to persist in Una, Hamirpur, Kullu, Mandi, Kangra, and Solan. However, relief may be on the horizon, as a yellow alert for thunderstorms and rain has been issued for June 13 to 15.
