Mandi, June 11: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur has accused the Congress-led state government of manipulating the recruitment process for NTT (Nursery Teacher Training) and outsourced positions to favour their close associates. Speaking to the media in Mandi, Thakur alleged that agents of the ruling party are facilitating backdoor entries for preferred candidates under the guise of recruitment.
He cited a recent incident in Paonta Sahib as a glaring example, where local residents staged a protest and raised slogans against the government, exposing the alleged irregularities.
Thakur emphasized that employment opportunities should be provided fairly and without bias. He pointed out that there are currently two categories of NTT diploma holders—those with a one-year diploma and those with a two-year diploma. The government, he said, is ignoring the former and giving preference exclusively to two-year diploma holders. Even within that group, he claimed, recruitment is being done selectively to benefit favourites.
He strongly criticized this approach, stating that such injustice in the name of employment is unacceptable. Thakur urged the government to immediately halt all outsourced recruitments and instead focus on providing permanent, stable jobs to deserving candidates.
