Cashless Treatment up to ₹1.5 Lakh for Road Accident Victims for Seven Days

Superintendent of Police, Kinnaur, Abhishek Shekhar, has announced that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, has launched a cashless treatment scheme for road accident victims in Himachal Pradesh.
Under this scheme, any person injured in a road accident—whether an Indian national or a foreign citizen—will be eligible for free medical treatment up to ₹1.5 lakh for a period of seven days following the accident.
SP Shekhar stated that to ensure the effectiveness of this initiative, the government will use the eDAR (Electronic Detailed Accident Report) mobile application, which will help provide immediate medical assistance to accident victims and ensure they are transported to the hospital within the “golden hour”—the critical period following an injury.
He added that the state government is working to widely promote this scheme to raise awareness and help save precious lives.
