Dharamshala, May 29:
In a significant step toward promoting religious tourism in Himachal Pradesh, RS Bali, Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (with Cabinet rank), flagged off a new air-conditioned HRTC Himdhara bus from Shri Chamunda Devi to Vrindavan Dham in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday.

Speaking at the launch, Bali said the state government is taking concrete measures to improve transport connectivity to religious destinations. Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) Vice Chairman Ajay Verma was also present at the event. Bali personally joined passengers for a portion of the inaugural journey, symbolizing the government’s commitment to improving travel convenience.

Highlighting the initiative, Bali said that while the Hon’ble Chief Minister is committed to equitable development across Himachal, special focus is being given to making Kangra the “Tourism Capital” of the state. “Kangra is home to many historic temples. This new direct bus service to Vrindavan will benefit thousands of pilgrims traveling in both directions,” he said.

Bali noted that residents of Kangra had long been demanding a direct bus to Vrindavan, and that promise has now been fulfilled. He added that this new route was first announced by the Chief Minister during the Bhagwan Nagrota event and extended his gratitude to both the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister for making it a reality. He also praised Ajay Verma for his active efforts in getting the service operational.

“This is a proud moment for the Nagrota Bagwan depot,” Bali said. “This is the first air-conditioned bus from Himachal Pradesh to Vrindavan Dham, and it starts from the sacred site of Shri Chamunda Devi.”

The bus will travel via Baglamukhi, Jwalamukhi, Dehra, Chandigarh, and Delhi before reaching Vrindavan. It will depart daily from Shri Chamunda Devi at 3:20 PM and reach Vrindavan at 8:45 AM the next morning. The return journey from Vrindavan will begin at 4:00 PM, arriving in Chamunda by 9:50 AM the following day. Passengers can book tickets through HRTC’s online portal.

HRTC Vice Chairman Ajay Verma welcomed the bus at the Kangra Bus Stand, met with passengers, and extended his best wishes for their journey.

Also present at the event were DM Pankaj Chaddha, SDM Munish Sharma, RM Rajinder Pathania, Bus Stand In-Charge Sanjeev Thakur, Chief Inspector Tilak Raj, Superintendent Ajay Kumar, Roshan Lal, Khanna, Krishan Kanoongo, Arun Katoch, Pratap Riyad, Ashok Sarotri, Ami Chand, Subhash Chandra, Dulhu, Krishan, Madan Sharma, Dalip Kaundal, Ashok Chaudhary, and Chhotu Babu.
