Shimla, May 28:
Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia of the Himachal Pradesh High Court emphasized that delivering timely and satisfactory justice to victims is the foremost responsibility of the judiciary. He made these remarks while inaugurating the newly constructed judicial complex in Arki, Solan district, which has been built at a cost of ₹11.5 crore.
Justice Sandhawalia stated that it is the duty of the judicial system to ensure that every citizen receives fair and timely justice. He called upon both advocates and judicial officers to work collectively toward a more efficient and time-bound decision-making process. Timely delivery of justice, he said, is a testament to the judiciary’s commitment to transparency and public trust.
He also noted that improved infrastructure not only facilitates smoother judicial proceedings but also ensures greater accessibility to justice for all. Calling law a noble profession, he urged lawyers to serve with a sense of purpose and dedication, offering meaningful assistance to those in need.
Justice Ajay Mohan Goel, also of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, echoed the sentiment, stating that all stakeholders—victims, lawyers, court staff, and judicial officers—play equally crucial roles in the justice delivery system. He expressed confidence that the new judicial complex would significantly contribute to ensuring timely and high-quality justice.
Welcoming the guests, Solan District and Sessions Judge Dr. Arvind Malhotra underlined the importance of a robust judiciary for a healthy democracy. He thanked Justice Sandhawalia for inaugurating the new facility.
The event was attended by Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, Registrar General Bhupesh Sharma, Additional District and Sessions Judge Vivek Khenal, Deputy Commissioner Manmohan Sharma, SP Gaurav Singh, representatives from the Bar Association, and several other dignitaries.
