Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur Raises Fresh Questions in Vimal Negi’s Mysterious Death Case

Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur has once again raised serious concerns over the suspicious death of Vimal Negi, General Manager of the Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation. Speaking to the media in Seraj, Mandi, Thakur reiterated his long-standing allegation that the state government is manipulating facts and attempting to destroy evidence related to the case.

He claimed that emerging details now validate the doubts raised from day one. “Such things have never happened in Himachal’s history,” said Thakur, expressing shock over the alleged mishandling of key evidence.

One of the most glaring issues, according to him, is the handling of the pen drive recovered with Negi’s body. “Why was it not included in the official record? Why was it formatted before being sent to the forensic science lab? Who is behind this and whom are they protecting?” Thakur questioned.

He accused the government of suppressing the matter and avoiding accountability, stating that despite widespread calls for a CBI probe, the government appears unwilling to hand over the investigation to an independent agency.

Appealing directly to the Chief Minister, Thakur urged him to authorize a CBI investigation. “To bring the truth to light, expose corruption, restore public faith in the administration, and deliver justice to Vimal Negi and his family—this case must be handed over to the CBI,” he said.
