Hamirpur, May 19:
A moving car suddenly caught fire in Gudiyana village, under Dangri Gram Panchayat of Nadaun subdivision, in Hamirpur district. Four occupants — two adults and two children — narrowly escaped with their lives after managing to get out of the vehicle just in time. The car was completely gutted within minutes.
The fire is suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
According to reports, the vehicle was traveling on a road in the Gudiyana area when flames unexpectedly erupted from the engine. The driver and passengers immediately sensed the danger and exited the car in a state of panic — saving themselves moments before the fire engulfed the vehicle entirely. Despite onlookers’ efforts, nothing could be done to control the blaze.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictable risks of vehicle malfunctions, and locals expressed relief that the situation did not result in tragedy.
