A serious road accident occurred late Friday evening in Dhusada village under the Amb police station area. A tempo carrying migrant workers overturned near the main road while returning from the fields after a day of potato harvesting. The vehicle lost control and flipped, leaving 27 people injured, including a large number of children and teenagers.
Locals and passersby quickly came to the aid of the injured, helping shift them to the Regional Hospital Una via 108 ambulance services. Of the injured, 22 are currently receiving treatment at the hospital, while one critically injured child, Ravi, son of Neelam, has been referred to PGI Chandigarh for advanced care.
According to reports, the migrant workers, who live in makeshift settlements in the Panoah and Dhusada areas, were on their way back from farm work when the accident occurred. The emergency ward of the hospital echoed with cries and distress as the injured were brought in.
Superintendent of Police Amit Yadav stated that an investigation into the incident is underway and appropriate legal action is being taken.
