Dharamshala, May 17:
The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has released the provisional combined merit list for Class 12 across all three streams for the academic year 2025. Of the 15 students featured in the list, 13 are girls and only 2 are boys, highlighting the growing academic strength of young women in the state.

Mahak, daughter of Naseeb Kumar, secured the top position by scoring 486 marks (97.2%). She appeared for the exam from St. D.R. Senior Secondary School, Gagret (Una).

The second position was jointly claimed by three students —

  • Jahnvi Thakur, daughter of Yashwant Singh from Bharati Vidyapeeth School, Utrala (Kangra)

  • Khushi, daughter of Suresh Singh from Dhauladhar School, Shamnagar, Dharamshala (Kangra)
All three scored 483 marks (96.6%).

Two students shared the sixth position, each with 479 marks:

  • Priya, daughter of Sanjay Kumar from Sansai (Kangra)

  • Jyoti Sharma, daughter of Ravi Sharma from Jaladi (Hamirpur)

Among the top 15, 8 students are from Kangra district and 6 from Una, with Bharati Vidyapeeth School, Baijnath (Kangra) producing the highest number of merit holders — a testament to its academic excellence.

A noteworthy highlight this year is the strong performance of students from government schools, many of whom stood shoulder to shoulder with their peers from private institutions. Students from Rait, Chanour, Ambota, and Jalari government schools have shown that with dedication and self-belief, excellence in education is within everyone’s reach.
