HPBOSE Declares Class 10 Results, Overall Pass Percentage at 79.8%
Dharamshala, May 15
The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) announced the results for the Class 10 examinations on Thursday. This year, the overall pass percentage stands at 79.8%, which officials have described as consistent and satisfactory compared to previous years.
Dr. Major Vishal Sharma, Secretary of the Board, informed that approximately 95,495 students appeared for the exams, which were conducted in March 2025.
This year marked the introduction of several new measures aimed at improving transparency and efficiency. For the first time, Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets were used in the Class 10 examinations to facilitate clearer responses for multiple-choice questions. Additionally, a step-wise marking system was implemented during evaluation—a new approach that ensured greater fairness and accuracy in scoring.
Around 2,300 examination centers were set up across the state. However, in remote regions like Lahaul-Spiti and Pangi, examinations were conducted on different dates due to logistical challenges.
Dr. Sharma noted that the new examination and evaluation systems received encouraging feedback from students, teachers, and school administrators. He added that these reforms will be further strengthened and expanded in the coming years to enhance the overall quality of assessment.
