Una: Bathu Village Braveheart Vyas Dev Loses Leg in Pakistan Shelling, Shrapnel Injures Chest

Una, May 12: Sub-Inspector Vyas Dev, son of Premchand and a resident of Bathu village in Haroli tehsil of Una district, was seriously injured in sudden shelling by Pakistan while on duty with the 7th Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday night. He is currently posted in the RS Pura sector.

According to reports, an explosion occurred near Vyas Dev, causing severe injuries. He suffered critical damage to his leg, which had to be amputated, and sustained shrapnel wounds to his chest. Prior to his current posting, he had been serving in Abohar, Punjab. Recently promoted from Assistant Sub-Inspector to Sub-Inspector, he had resumed duty in Jammu and Kashmir on April 15 after a 20-day leave.

Vyas Dev is being treated at a military hospital in Jammu and Kashmir. He was due to retire later this year after a long and dedicated service in the BSF.

The incident has deeply affected his home village. Bathu Panchayat Pradhan Surekha Rana, along with the entire community, has extended prayers for his swift recovery. The village stands in solidarity with his family during this challenging time.

Vyas Dev’s courage and dedication in the face of grave danger exemplify the spirit of selfless service. His sacrifice is both a moment of sorrow and pride for the entire region.
