Indora/Una, May 10: In a swift and precise operation, the Indian Army intercepted and shot down a suspicious drone early Saturday morning around 5:00 AM in Majra village, located in the Damtal police jurisdiction of Himachal Pradesh’s Indora subdivision. The village lies adjacent to the high-security Pathankot Airbase, underscoring the seriousness of the incident.
Following the interception, teams from the Damtal Police, Punjab Police, and paramilitary forces reached the site immediately. The area was cordoned off, and senior Army officials were called in. The drone debris was recovered by military personnel, and surveillance has since been intensified in the vicinity. Locals have been urged to remain alert and report anything unusual.
Simultaneously, security agencies in Himachal’s Una district have been placed on high alert amid concerns over possible drone activity originating from Pakistan. Coordination between the police and military has been ramped up, particularly in border areas. Based on intelligence inputs, security checkpoints have been strengthened in sensitive zones, and monitoring of suspicious movement has been enhanced.
Of note, remnants resembling missile components from a drone were also recently discovered in the Chintpurni area of Una, further heightening vigilance.
Authorities have emphasized that the situation is under control. However, residents are strongly advised to report any suspicious objects or activity to the police or district administration without delay.
