Pakistani Provocations Continue Along Western Border, Armed Drones Shot Down in Amritsar’s Khasa Cantonment
New Delhi, May 10: Hostile activity from Pakistan along India’s western border continues to escalate, with repeated attempts at drone infiltration and weapons smuggling. In the early hours of Friday, around 5:00 a.m., multiple armed enemy drones were detected in the Khasa Cantonment area of Amritsar. Indian air defence units responded swiftly and successfully intercepted and neutralized all hostile UAVs.
Such acts are not only blatant violations of India’s sovereignty but also pose a serious threat to civilian lives—something India will not tolerate under any circumstances.
Earlier, drone activity had been reported at 26 locations along the International Border and Line of Control (LoC), including Baramulla, Srinagar, Awantipora, Nagrota, Jammu, Firozpur, Pathankot, Fazilka, Lalgarh Jatta, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bhuj, Kuarbet, and Lakhi Nala.
In Firozpur, an armed drone attack on a civilian area left a local family injured. The victims received first aid, and the area has since been sanitized. Indian armed forces remain on high alert, closely monitoring all drone activity and responding immediately using advanced counter-drone systems.
The Ministry of Defence has advised civilians, especially those living in border areas, to stay indoors, limit unnecessary movement, and strictly follow official advisories to ensure their safety.
