Solan, May 9: In light of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, precautionary measures have been put in place in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district. The district administration has ordered a complete blackout in the border-adjacent areas of Parwanoo, Baddi, and Nalagarh from 8:00 PM tonight until 6:00 AM tomorrow.

Deputy Commissioner Manmohan Sharma has instructed all local panchayats to ensure that household and street lights are switched off or covered with dark cloth. Temporary disconnection of solar lighting systems has also been mandated.

Local shopkeepers have been advised to close their establishments by 8 PM, and industrial units have been asked not to operate night shifts. Coordination with the military has been reinforced in the Kasauli region.

Meanwhile, the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) has suspended night bus services to Amritsar, Jammu, Katra, and Pathankot as a precaution. Passengers are urged to check the latest travel updates before making any plans.

The Deputy Commissioner added that blackout orders may be extended to other regions if necessary, and appealed to the public for full cooperation in ensuring safety and security.
