Jammu, May 7:
Tensions flared along the Line of Control (LoC) following India’s pre-dawn airstrikes targeting terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), under Operation Sindoor. In apparent retaliation, Pakistani forces launched heavy shelling on civilian areas along the LoC through the night, leading to the death of 10 Indian civilians and leaving several others injured.

According to local officials, Tandhar village bore the brunt of the Pakistani attack, which began hours after the Indian Air Force conducted precision strikes on multiple terrorist launchpads across the border.

Sources say that this is the latest and most intense violation in a string of ceasefire breaches by Pakistan over the past 12 days, each met with a firm response from Indian forces. The situation escalated significantly after Wednesday morning’s air operation, which reportedly destroyed key infrastructure belonging to terror outfits such as Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed in PoK.

Firing from the Pakistani side is still ongoing in parts of the Poonch sector, and the Indian Army is said to be responding with equal intensity.

With the LoC turning into a flashpoint, fears of a broader escalation have mounted, drawing concern from security analysts and international observers alike.
