Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has directed officials to complete all pending compassionate appointment cases within one year. He issued these instructions while presiding over a meeting on the state’s compassionate employment policy held in Shimla today.

The Chief Minister announced that the annual income eligibility limit for compassionate appointments will be raised from ₹2.5 lakh to ₹3 lakh. The pending cases will be resolved in three phases to ensure transparency and fairness.

In the first phase, priority will be given to widows and applicants under the age of 45 who have lost both parents. Currently, this category includes 141 widows and 159 orphaned children across the state.

In the second phase, eligible individuals from lower-income families will be provided employment on compassionate grounds, while all remaining qualified applicants will be accommodated in the third phase.

The meeting was also attended by Education Minister Rohit Thakur, Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani, AYUSH Minister Yadvinder Goma, Principal Secretary Devesh Kumar, Secretaries M. Sudha Devi and Rakesh Kanwar, and Law Secretary Sharad Kumar Lagwal.
