Mock Drill Conducted at Dharamshala Stadium: Preparedness for Crowd Control and Emergencies Ahead of IPL Match

Dharamshala, May 1: Ahead of the upcoming IPL T20 match at the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium, the district administration conducted a comprehensive mock drill to ensure preparedness for any potential disaster or emergency scenario.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Shilpi Beakta stated that the exercise was carried out under the district’s disaster management plan, focusing on crowd control and safe evacuation procedures during an emergency situation at the stadium. The drill also familiarized officers with their designated roles in such scenarios.
She noted that staff assigned by the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) for match duties have already received the necessary training. In addition, officials and personnel from emergency services have been instructed to remain alert throughout the event.
ADC Beakta also directed all concerned departments to complete all necessary preparations related to the match in a timely manner. She emphasized the importance of strong law and order arrangements and instructed the police department to ensure robust security measures during the international-level cricket event.
Fire department officials were also directed to inspect the stadium’s fire safety infrastructure and ensure that appropriate firefighting arrangements are in place.
