Mandi, April 30: Residents living near the Beas River are being urged to exercise caution, as water levels in the Pandoh Dam are rising rapidly. According to the Executive Engineer of the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) at Pandoh, the increased water flow is due to accelerated snowmelt in the dam’s catchment area, prompting the possibility of releasing excess water through the dam’s spillway gates at any time.

The official stated that the release of additional water could result in a sudden rise in the river’s flow downstream. As a precaution, local residents, fishermen, and tourists are strongly advised to stay away from the riverbanks and remain alert to avoid any untoward incidents.

This advisory has been issued in the interest of public safety. Authorities have also requested parents to keep children away from the river and urged everyone to strictly follow government safety instructions.
