Shimla, April 27:
Police have successfully cracked the sensational case of arson at Majra Bazaar in Sirmaur district, where a shop was set on fire due to a family feud. The police have arrested four suspects, including the mastermind, Salman. On Sunday, the Majra Police Station team apprehended Salman, the fourth accused, from Majra itself. Three other suspects had already been arrested earlier.

The police unraveled the entire conspiracy through meticulous digital investigation, a thorough analysis of CCTV footage, and examination of phone records.

The incident occurred during the night of April 17–18, when shops belonging to Asif Ali and Sohaib at Majra Bazaar were deliberately set ablaze over a family dispute. The suspects executed the plan with careful precision — they had purchased petrol from Dehradun on April 15 and then waited for the right moment to set the shops on fire on the night of April 17–18.

In an attempt to mislead investigators, main accused Salman fled to Chandigarh immediately after the crime. He tried to present toll plaza receipts and hotel booking records as evidence of his innocence. However, thanks to the vigilance of the Cyber Cell team, the SP Office Nahan, and Constable Amarjot Singh from Majra Police Station, the conspiracy was fully exposed.

The arrested suspects are currently being interrogated in depth. During preliminary questioning, all the accused reportedly confessed to plotting and executing the crime. Further revelations are expected as the investigation progresses.

Police officials stated that had this conspiracy not been uncovered in time, the situation could have escalated into even larger incidents within the market area. The prompt action by Majra Police and the precise work of the Cyber Cell team are being widely praised across the region.
