Mandi, April 26:
Following the Pahalgam attack, India has decided to suspend the flow of river waters heading to Pakistan. In response, Pakistani leaders have unleashed a series of reckless statements, even threatening bloodshed against Indians. Reacting strongly to these threats, former Union Minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur has issued a sharp rebuttal.

Speaking informally to the media after presiding over a commemorative event honoring Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in Sundernagar, Mandi, Anurag Thakur said, “In a country where people are already struggling for scraps of bread, if even water becomes scarce, where will the blood flow from? Only time will tell.”

Thakur reminded that India has decisively defeated Pakistan in the wars of 1965, 1971, and during the Kargil conflict. “Pakistan should know better by now,” he said. “Terrorists hiding anywhere will no longer be spared. India will ensure they meet their fate, wherever they may be.”

Responding to comments from Pakistan’s Defense Minister regarding the unrest following the Pahalgam attack, Thakur said Pakistan’s support for terrorism is well-known worldwide. He accused successive Pakistani governments of nurturing terrorism and assured that the sacrifice of those killed in the Pahalgam attack would not go in vain. “After this attack, 1.4 billion Indians are demanding firm action,” he added.

On the Centre’s decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, Thakur remarked, “This is just the beginning. Every individual and entity involved in supporting terrorism will face consequences. Nothing is impossible, and the government will not back down from taking whatever steps are necessary.”
