New Delhi, April 22:
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the final results of the Civil Services Examination 2024. Among the top achievers this year is Harshita Goyal, who secured the second rank nationwide. Born in Hisar, Haryana, and raised in Vadodara, Gujarat, Harshita’s journey is a testament to perseverance, determination, and a deep sense of purpose.

Despite having already established a successful career as a Chartered Accountant, Harshita chose to pursue her long-standing dream of serving society through the civil services. After completing her early education in Vadodara, she pursued Chartered Accountancy, which laid a strong academic foundation. For the UPSC exam, she opted for Political Science and International Relations as her optional subject.

Her dedication to public service is reflected in her work with the ‘Belief Foundation,’ an NGO that supports children battling critical illnesses like thalassemia and cancer. These real-world experiences and her compassion for the underprivileged inspired her not only to achieve personal excellence but also to become an agent of positive change in society.

Harshita firmly believes that India’s holistic development hinges on providing equal opportunities to all sections of society. Her journey from finance to public service serves as a powerful example of what focused determination and a heart for service can accomplish. Today, her story stands as an inspiration for countless young aspirants across the country.

Through the UPSC 2024 recruitment cycle, a total of 1,129 vacancies will be filled, including 180 positions in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), 55 in the Indian Foreign Service (IFS), 147 in the Indian Police Service (IPS), 605 in Group ‘A’ Central Services, and 142 in Group ‘B’ Services. The Commission has also prepared a reserve list of 230 candidates.

The written exam was conducted in September, followed by the personality test (interviews) between January and April. Candidates’ marksheets will be released approximately 15 days from now.
