Shimla, April 16: Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (SJVN) today handed over an interim dividend cheque of ₹121.33 crore to Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for the financial year 2024–25. The cheque was presented by SJVN Director (Personnel) Ajay Kumar Sharma and Consultant Dr. M.P. Sood in a formal ceremony held in Shimla.

Himachal Pradesh, which holds a 26.85% stake in SJVN, received this dividend as part of the company’s declared interim payout of ₹451.93 crore. The remaining amount has been distributed among the Government of India (₹248.55 crore) and public shareholders (₹82.05 crore).

Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh was also present during the handover.

Ajay Kumar Sharma highlighted that SJVN is currently operating and developing 95 power projects across India and Nepal, covering hydro, solar, wind, pumped storage, and thermal sectors. With an installed capacity of 2,708.27 MW and a total project portfolio of 66,107.4 MW, the company is one of the major players in India’s clean energy push.

SJVN has laid out an ambitious roadmap to achieve 25,000 MW by 2030 and 50,000 MW by 2040, aligning with the government’s goals of energy security and sustainable development.

Chief Minister Sukhu praised SJVN’s performance and its contribution to the state’s economy and green growth. He also emphasized the importance of expanding renewable energy infrastructure to support long-term development and employment in Himachal Pradesh.
