A shocking case of threat to life has emerged from Himachal Pradesh, where former state minister Virender Kanwar has reported receiving threatening phone calls involving kidnapping and murder. The incident has triggered security concerns, prompting the Bangana police to launch an immediate investigation.
According to the former minister, two threatening calls were received over the span of three days. The caller introduced himself as Dharmendra from Aligarh, but on checking the number through Truecaller, the identity appeared as Irfan Khan, raising suspicions about the caller’s real identity and intentions.
“I received threats of being kidnapped and killed. I have reported the matter to the police,” said Virender Kanwar.
Police Begin Technical Investigation, Cyber Cell Involved
District SP Rakesh Singh confirmed the receipt of the complaint and said that a case has been registered under relevant sections. The technical team, including the cyber cell, has begun tracing the mobile number, analyzing call recordings, and checking for previous criminal history of the number used.
“We are investigating the matter from all angles and trying to reach the accused at the earliest,” said SP Rakesh Singh.
