Youth Congress Protests Against Kangana Ranaut’s Remarks, Waves Black Flags in Mandi
Slogans of “Go Back” echo as Youth Congress slams MP’s “indecent” comments on Congress
Mandi, April 11:
Bollywood actress and Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut is once again at the center of controversy in Himachal Pradesh. Her recent comments targeting the Congress party have sparked strong backlash, with the Youth Congress staging an “anger rally” at the district headquarters in Mandi on Thursday.
Carrying black flags and chanting slogans like “Badtameez MP”, “Kangana Ranaut Go Back”, Youth Congress workers gathered near the venue of a Disha Committee meeting chaired by Kangana, voicing their disapproval of her remarks. The protest took place just 10 meters away from the meeting site, prompting a quick response from the local police, who deployed a heavy force to maintain peace. ASP Hiremath also arrived at the spot to oversee the situation.
Despite the emotional slogans and visible frustration, the protest remained peaceful. Youth Congress District President Nikhil Thakur from Sundernagar addressed the gathering, stating, “Himachal is known for its civilized culture, and Kangana’s words are disrespectful to that legacy.” He accused Kangana of being absent during the state’s time of crisis and returning only to enjoy the pleasant weather.
He further added that Kangana’s continuous targeting of the Congress party has alienated even her own party members. “She’s acting more like a tourist than a responsible representative,” Thakur remarked.
The protest has amplified the ongoing political tensions in the Mandi Lok Sabha constituency as election season heats up. Meanwhile, the Disha Committee meeting continued under tight security, with the stir outside drawing attention from locals and political observers alike.
