Mandi, April 7:
The political climate in the Mandi parliamentary constituency has become more heated as Bollywood actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut once again takes aim at Congress leaders, particularly Rahul Gandhi and Vikramaditya Singh. In a pointed address on Monday in Joginder Nagar, Mandi district, Kangana criticized the Congress leadership, referring to Rahul Gandhi as “Sonia’s son” and Vikramaditya Singh as “Raja Babu.”
Kangana, who represents Mandi in Parliament, advised both leaders to remember their dignity and not throw so much mud that they lose their sense of self-respect. “Sitting in Himachal, Vikramaditya Singh is making absurd statements about his presence every day. It’s clear that he hasn’t gotten over the slap of public defeat in the elections,” Kangana remarked. She also added, “When I am present in Parliament, the whole country is watching me, but Vikramaditya Singh cannot seem to see me.”
During her speech, Kangana further advised the Congress leaders not to spread rumors about her and emphasized the importance of maintaining some humanity in their actions.
Kangana also turned her attention to the Congress party’s involvement with the Waqf Board, accusing them of enabling land occupation. “Due to the Congress’s strategy, some members of the Waqf Board have occupied land equivalent to Pakistan and have been ready to cause bloodshed if anyone opposed them,” Kangana asserted. She further criticized the silence of the opposition on the Waqf Bill amendment, following Home Minister Amit Shah’s actions to curb what she called “their arbitrariness.”
This latest war of words between Kangana and the Congress marks another chapter in the ongoing political tension in Mandi, where both the actress-turned-MP and Congress leaders are actively engaging in public discourse ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
