Shimla, April 6: In a significant development aimed at improving administrative efficiency and enhancing the work environment for employees, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday laid the foundation stone for the much-awaited Ellergely Bhawan. This new building, set to be constructed in the State Secretariat complex in Shimla, is expected to provide modern facilities to the employees and officers working within the Secretariat.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening the administrative system and ensuring better working conditions for state employees. He stated, “The construction of Ellergely Bhawan will significantly improve the working environment by providing the necessary modern infrastructure, making administrative work more efficient and effective.”

The Chief Minister further outlined that the new building is part of the government’s broader efforts to improve facilities for employees, which will not only enhance productivity but also contribute to a more seamless and well-organized administrative system.

In addition to the foundation stone laying ceremony, Chief Minister Sukhu mentioned that he would be leaving Shimla the following day to attend the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting, which is seen as crucial for formulating strategies ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Targeting BJP Over Vimal Negi’s Suspicious Death
During his speech, the Chief Minister also addressed the controversy surrounding the suspicious death of engineer Vimal Negi, sharply criticizing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for politicizing the issue. He stated that the state government is committed to a fair and thorough investigation and is currently awaiting medical and forensic reports. Sukhu assured the public that strict and appropriate action would be taken once the reports are received.

He also offered the possibility of a CBI inquiry into the matter, saying that the BJP-led central government could initiate the investigation if desired, with no objection from the state government. However, he urged the BJP to refrain from politicizing the issue for their own gain. “While BJP is staging protests and marches, they show no real concern for the bereaved family. We are committed to ensuring justice, and no culprit will be spared,” he asserted.

The foundation stone ceremony of Ellergely Bhawan marks an important step in improving the state’s administrative infrastructure, while the Chief Minister’s comments on the Vimal Negi case reflect his ongoing commitment to transparency and justice in the state.
