Himachal Pradesh Government Begins Recruitment for 6,692 Outsourced Posts in Education Department

Shimla, April 5: The Himachal Pradesh government has launched a major recruitment drive to fill 6,692 outsourced positions within the Education Department. The recruitment process, which will be conducted through the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), aims to provide employment opportunities to thousands of youth in the state. Interested candidates can apply for these positions by April 28, 2025.

The bulk of the vacancies are for the position of Aaya in pre-primary schools, with a total of 6,202 posts available. Other positions include 124 yoga teachers, 227 special educators, and 124 career guidance counselors. Applications must be submitted through post, and candidates are required to download the application form from the NIELIT Shimla website (www.nielit.gov.in/shimla), along with necessary documents and a ₹500 demand draft.

The government has set varying honorariums for the different roles. Aayas, working on a part-time basis, will receive a monthly honorarium of ₹4,075. Yoga teachers will earn ₹6,789, career guidance counselors will be paid ₹17,068, and special educators will receive salaries ranging from ₹16,385 to ₹20,469, depending on their level. Special educators will be appointed across two levels: primary and upper primary (193 posts) and secondary and senior secondary (34 posts).

Educational Qualifications:

  • Yoga Teachers: Must have a one-year diploma in yoga along with a graduation degree.

  • Career Guidance Counselors: Required to have an MA or M.Ed along with a diploma in guidance and counseling.

  • Aayas: The minimum educational qualification for Aayas is 12th pass.

  • Special Educators: A diploma in special education or a B.Ed degree is mandatory, along with appropriate qualifications based on the respective level (primary, upper primary, secondary, or senior secondary).

Additionally, the recruitment includes positions outside the Education Department, such as 12 posts of District Program Managers and 3 posts of e-District Managers, with monthly salaries of ₹30,000 and ₹32,490, respectively.

This recruitment process is expected to offer significant employment opportunities to the youth of Himachal Pradesh, and the government has urged eligible candidates to apply before the deadline.
