Shimla, April 4: The Himachal Pradesh state government has entrusted additional responsibilities to Nischint Singh Negi, a 2007 batch officer of the Himachal Pradesh Police Service (HPPS) and the current Superintendent of Police (SP) of Sirmaur district. According to an official notification issued by the Home Department, Negi has been appointed as the Commandant of the 6th India Reserve Battalion (IRBn) in Dhaula Kuan, Sirmaur, with immediate effect.

This decision, which comes as part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen law enforcement, is seen as a strategic move to bolster public safety. As the Commandant of the 6th IRBn, Negi will oversee the operations of this crucial paramilitary force, which plays an integral role in maintaining law and order across the region, especially during special security operations and emergencies.

Nischint Singh Negi, who has been serving as SP in Sirmaur, is now tasked with leading the IRBn alongside his existing duties, reflecting the trust placed in his leadership and expertise. The 6th IRBn, stationed in Dhaula Kuan, has consistently contributed to safeguarding the state’s security landscape, and under Negi’s leadership, it is expected to continue playing a vital role in public safety and law enforcement.
