Shimla, March 28: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the largest volunteer-based organization in India, is set to mark its centenary year on October 2, 2025. To commemorate this milestone, a three-day meeting of the All India Representative Assembly was held in Bengaluru, where discussions revolved around the Sangh’s future growth, social service initiatives, and its vision for national unity and the security of Hindu society. A major resolution was passed to promote a harmonious and organized Hindu society aimed at world peace and prosperity.

During the press conference held in Shimla on Wednesday, RSS Himachal Pradesh Sanghchalak Dr. Veer Singh Rangra, Department Sanghchalak Rajkumar Verma, and Province Prachar Pramukh Pratap Samayal presented key highlights from the Bengaluru meeting to the media. They emphasized the Sangh’s commitment to expanding its organizational reach and reinforcing social service efforts as it prepares for its historic centenary year.

Organizational Expansion and Social Impact

The RSS leadership focused on the organization’s continued expansion and its deepening social impact. Dr. Rangra and his colleagues noted that the RSS has significantly increased its presence across the country. As of now, the Sangh holds 83,129 branches at 51,570 locations, marking an increase of 10,000 branches over the previous year. Furthermore, 32,147 weekly meetings and 12,091 monthly congregations have been organized, creating a robust network of branches, meetings, and service initiatives that touch communities nationwide.

In Himachal Pradesh, the Sangh has established a considerable presence, with 26 districts, 737 locations, 1,004 branches, 327 weekly meetings, and 156 Sangh congregations. The organization’s outreach is not only focused on organizational growth but also on social welfare. At over 260 places in the state, the RSS is providing food, medical checkups, and hygiene equipment to sanitation workers, helping to improve the welfare of underprivileged communities.

Commitment to Unity and Harmony

At the heart of the RSS’s centenary celebrations is the organization’s vision of a unified Hindu society. Dr. Rangra emphasized that the RSS’s ideology is rooted in the principles of “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhina” – may all be happy, and it does not seek to divide or alienate anyone. He stressed that the Sangh is not against any community but aims to strengthen and unite Hindu society, encouraging a sense of national pride and unity.

In this context, the leadership reaffirmed its commitment to fostering peace, harmony, and cooperation among all sections of society. This vision aligns with the RSS’s longstanding belief that unity and organization within Hindu society are essential to contributing to global peace and prosperity. The leadership also reiterated that the Sangh stands firmly with those who support the idea of a united India, underlined by the slogan “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”

Concerns Over the Safety of Hindus Globally

In addition to its focus on domestic unity, the RSS also expressed deep concern over the rising attacks on Hindus, saints, and sanyasis in Bangladesh. This issue was raised during the Bengaluru meeting, where discussions were held on how to address these concerns with the Government of India and the United Nations (UNO). The RSS leadership made it clear that while the organization remains non-partisan, it will continue to advocate for the safety and well-being of Hindus wherever they may be.

As the RSS prepares for its 100th year, its leaders have called for increased unity and organizational strength among Hindus to create a peaceful and prosperous future. The organization’s growth, social services, and unwavering commitment to its values reflect its ongoing mission to contribute positively to society and the world at large. Through its various initiatives and resolutions, the RSS aims to ensure that its centenary year is marked by a renewed commitment to building a harmonious society that fosters global peace and prosperity.
