Solan, March 26 In a significant move to improve healthcare accessibility, UCO Bank has donated a mobile X-ray machine worth Rs 26 lakh to the Health Department of Solan district. This donation, made under the bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, will play a pivotal role in the timely identification of tuberculosis (TB) and other serious health conditions, especially in remote areas.

The donation was made during the TB Free Panchayat Samman Samaroh held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Solan, coinciding with the observance of Tuberculosis Day. The mobile X-ray machine was officially handed over to the Health Department by Deputy Commissioner Manmohan Sharma. The ceremony saw the presence of several dignitaries, including CMO Solan Dr. Amit Ranjan, Chief Manager of UCO Bank Solan Nidhi Sharma, and various Panchayat representatives.

UCO Bank’s Zonal Head, Pradeep Anand Kesari, emphasized the significance of the machine in the fight against tuberculosis. “If this machine saves the life of even one person, then our effort will be successful. The bank will continue to contribute in every possible way to building a TB-free society,” Kesari said.

A Step Towards Timely Diagnosis and Treatment

The mobile X-ray machine is a vital addition to the district’s healthcare services. Dr. Amit Ranjan, the Chief Medical Officer of Solan, highlighted that this machine would enhance the efficiency of health camps organized across the district. “With the portable nature of the machine, we can now conduct X-rays in field locations, making it easier to diagnose serious diseases like tuberculosis. This will be especially beneficial for people living in remote areas who otherwise might not have access to such diagnostic facilities,” Dr. Ranjan said.

The mobile unit can be easily transported to areas where healthcare infrastructure is limited, allowing for widespread screenings and early diagnosis of TB, which is crucial for timely treatment. This will significantly reduce the risk of TB transmission in the community, contributing to the district’s efforts to become TB-free.

A Major Milestone in Solan’s Fight Against Tuberculosis

The donation of the mobile X-ray machine aligns with Solan district’s ongoing efforts to combat tuberculosis. The district has already made considerable progress, with 35 panchayats being officially declared TB-free. Deputy Commissioner Manmohan Sharma applauded these efforts, recognizing the importance of such initiatives in the larger context of public health. “Treatment of tuberculosis is 100% possible with timely detection and proper treatment. The mobile X-ray machine will undoubtedly ease the diagnosis process and provide greater relief to patients across the district,” Sharma noted.

The district’s commitment to achieving a TB-free status has been bolstered by collaborations with various organizations and the proactive involvement of local authorities. This donation from UCO Bank marks a significant milestone in the fight against tuberculosis, ensuring that health services reach the underserved populations.

Greater Accessibility to Health Services

The mobile X-ray machine is expected to have a far-reaching impact, providing critical healthcare support to those in need. Health authorities are optimistic that this initiative will pave the way for further advancements in healthcare infrastructure, improving the overall well-being of Solan’s residents.

As the district continues to work towards eradicating tuberculosis, the support from organizations like UCO Bank plays a crucial role in facilitating access to essential healthcare services. The mobile X-ray machine is not only a tool for diagnosis but also a symbol of community partnership in tackling public health challenges.

With this new addition to the district’s healthcare arsenal, patients across Solan can look forward to timely and accurate diagnostic services, ensuring a healthier, TB-free future for all.
