Shimla, March 25: Former Bilaspur MLA Bumber Thakur, who was recently the target of a deadly attack, has urged the state government to increase security for himself and his family, claiming that their lives remain in danger. Just hours after being discharged from the hospital, Thakur made his way directly to the Vidhan Sabha, where he met Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to discuss his concerns regarding his safety.

He claimed that his public stand against corruption was followed by the attack on his life. “I have raised my voice against the rampant corruption at AIIMS, and the very next day, I was attacked. This is not the first time that conspiracies have been orchestrated against me. There were attempts to defeat me in the elections, and now attempts are being made on my life,” Thakur added.
Despite the shock of the attack, Thakur commended the police for their ongoing investigation into the incident but urged that the pace be accelerated. He emphasized that, although progress has been made, he continues to feel a significant threat to his life.
