Una, March 21: In a shocking development, two youths from Dulehar village in Haroli have been arrested for the murder of their friend, Surendra Pal, whose decomposed body was found in a jungle in Naya Nangal, Punjab, on March 19. The police have charged the accused, Ishu Thakur and Amandeep, with the brutal killing of Surendra Pal, who went missing earlier this month.
The case came to light after Surendra Pal’s younger brother, Naresh Kumar, lodged a complaint with the police. According to Naresh Kumar’s statement, Surendra Pal, who was last seen alive on March 13, was allegedly killed by his own friends. Naresh Kumar said that his brother’s friends, Ishu Thakur and Amandeep, took Surendra Pal with them on a scooty that afternoon, but he never returned home. The family grew increasingly concerned after several days passed without any news of Surendra Pal.
The family initially tried to locate Surendra Pal through inquiries with relatives and friends, but when no trace of him was found, they filed a missing report at the Tahliwal police station on March 17. Tragically, two days later, on March 19, Surendra Pal’s body was discovered in a decomposed state in a forested area in Naya Nangal Sector-2. The police immediately launched an investigation and soon began to suspect foul play.
The family alleged that Amandeep and Ishu Thakur had forcibly taken Surendra Pal with them and were responsible for his death. After conducting an initial investigation, the police arrested both the accused, who were then taken into custody for questioning. The police have confirmed that the two will be presented in court on Saturday, and further interrogation is expected to reveal more details about the circumstances surrounding the murder.
The police took the body of Surendra Pal into their custody and sent it to Tanda Medical College for a post-mortem examination. Una’s Superintendent of Police (SP) Rakesh Singh stated that the exact cause of Surendra Pal’s death will only be determined after receiving the post-mortem report. However, the police have already filed a murder case against Ishu Thakur and Amandeep and are working to piece together the full details of the tragic incident.
The community has been left in shock over the murder of Surendra Pal, particularly as the accused were close friends of the victim. The motives behind the murder are still unclear, but authorities are focusing on gathering more evidence and conducting a thorough investigation. The case has sparked widespread concern in the area, raising questions about the trust between close friends and the potential dangers of such seemingly ordinary relationships.
As the investigation progresses, the police are committed to uncovering the full truth behind Surendra Pal’s death. The incident has cast a dark shadow over the otherwise peaceful community, leaving family members and locals seeking justice for the victim. The authorities are ensuring that they leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of answers.
