International Shivratri Festival: Governor chairs closing ceremony in Mandi
Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla chaired the scintillating closing ceremony of the International Shivratri Festival at Mandi today, highlighting the cultural and spiritual importance of the day. Janaki Shukla also attended the event as special guest.
While addressing the public gathering, the Governor said that the festival is a mirror of the rich cultural heritage, faith and traditions of Himachal Pradesh. He stressed that Shivratri is not merely a festival, but also entails devotion, penance and steadfast faith. As the god of destruction and creation, Lord Shiva is the epitome of truth, justice and dharma. Lord Shiva’s trident also represents the path of righteousness, and his damru is a symbol of the eternal cycle of creation and destruction, the Governor said.
