Sundernagar, February 25: In a major announcement at Sundernagar in Mandi district,Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said India is firmly moving in the direction of becoming one of the three largest economies of the world by 2027. Singh also said this during the release of the 19th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana at the national level, an initiative which aims to support farmers across the Kingdom with a secured financial situation. Rajnath Singh addressed a large gathering of farmers and local leaders at the event in Sundernagar, Mandi district, and reiterated the country’s “rising economic stature” and agriculture’s crucial role in India’s development.

India’s Ascent on the World Stage

On the Indian economyRajnath Singh said he is hopeful of India becoming one of the top three economies of the world by 2027, Says over the last few years, the country’s economic condition has continuously been strengthening. The minister credited this development to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose administration has been instrumental in elevating India’s standing on the world stage.

“In 2014, India was at the 11th place in size of global economy. As of today, India stands at 5th place and if continued on this trajectory, we will achieve top 3 economies by the year 2027. “Such advancement is being achieved due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership,” Rajnath Singh said, highlighting the magnitude of change that has occurred in the country within such a brief time frame.

In doing so, Singh pointed to the kind of global recognition that India now receives, where countries today recognize the strategic value of India. He attributed the rise in India’s status on the world stage to Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, adding that before 2014, other countries did not take India as seriously. But, led as it is by Modi today, India is an important player in the international arena and has a voice that is listened to and respected in the world.

Towards Farmers Empowerment

The centerpiece of the event was the release of the 19th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, a government initiative that provides financial assistance to farmers via direct transfer. The program has been a lifeline for millions nationwide, offering farmers a source of economic support. Singh also said that on this occasion, ₹180 crores has been deposited in the accounts of 9,73,000 farmers in Himachal Pradesh, showing that the government was committed to ensuring the welfare of farmers in the state.

In his speech Rajnath Singh triggered that direct payment of funds into farmers accounts was a very big change in implementation of welfare schemes. “In earlier governments, corruption reigned, and only a small part of the resources were channelled for the common people.” Rajiv Gandhi used to say that out of 100 paise sent from the center only 14 paise reaches the common man. However, with the Modi government, 100% of benefits are being delivered directly to the needy farmers through the digital and transparent system that the government has put in place,” Singh said.

He stated that direct transfers had not only provided relief to those farmers but contributed to overcoming 25 crore people from poverty in the country. This change in the way welfare programs have been administered has been considered a landmark success in India’s continuous effort to improve governance and combat poverty.

Promotion of Natural Farming

Rajnath Singh also emphasised the growing need of natural farming and hailed the role of progressive farmers from the region. The event also featured stalls displaying products linked to natural farming, sustainable agriculture, and modern farming methods. These stalls demonstrated canopied displays of organic vegetables, fruits, and more locally-sourced foodstuff that were a hit with those who flocked to the makeshift marketplace.

Speaking on the occasion, the Defence Minister applauded the farmers’ adoption of green technology in farming and said that the farmers following natural farming are indeed great men. “The farmers here are incredibly innovative; they’ve embraced sustainable farming practices. I had visited the stalls and saw the products myself. “The variety and quality of the product speak for the hard work and commitment of our farmers,” he said.

Singh further stressed that natural farming in the region should also be encouraged and authorities should provide more resources and training to farmers in this area. Natural farming, he observed, not only contributes to environmental sustainability but also improves farmers’ quality of life by lowering their reliance on chemical inputs.

“I motivate the promotion of natural farming because it is economically viable as well as conducive to keeping our climate and all forms of life healthy,” Rajnath Singh said.

PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana: Significance

Introduced by Prime Minister Modi in 2018, the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a scheme to provide direct income support to farmers for meeting their agricultural necessities. How will it help: The move has been devised to relieve farmers from the financial burden they are facing to carry out sowing, irrigation and related farming activities.

Under this scheme, it provides ₹6,000 for the eligible farmers, paid in three equal installments in a year. Against the backdrop of the challenges faced by small and marginal farmers, the program has been providing them critical capital to enhance their agriculture practices and procure inputs such as seeds, fertilizers and equipment.

The 19th installment was released as a proportion of the government’s consistent efforts to make sure that the funds reach the farmers on time, thereby supporting their livelihoods.” After several rounds of revision, there are now millions of farmers in the country who are directly benefited from this program, which has become instrumental in aiding India’s agricultural economy.

A Vision for the Future

Rajnath Singh also spoke about his broader vision for the future of India and the position that agriculture will hold in that vision. India’s agriculture sector needed to keep pace with global demands, he added. This includes technology investments, infrastructure improvements, and attention to sustainable agriculture to achieve food security and environmental sustainability.

“India’s economy is not merely made out of industries or technology but is also based on agriculture. We should develop the agri-sector in such a way that it caters to needs of our farmers and consumers. “Proper support will not only make India self-sufficient in food production but will also lead to export,” Singh said.

He also stressed the need for farmers to continue embracing modern technologies and practices to boost productivity, cut waste, and make their operations more viable. Technological innovations such as precision crop farming and digitalization will become paramount in this transition unless the agriculture economy can upgrade its systems to meet its own target of increasing productivity and providing a path toward sustainability.

Releasing the 19th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana at an event at Sundernagar, the Prime Minister described the journey as a historic step in making India a stronger and self-reliant economy. Of Encouraging farmers, Investing in sustainable practices, And Bringing the country to rise. The optimism expressed by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh regarding India’s march, especially the bullish projection of India potentially becoming one of the leading three economies of the world within four years, captures — as if suggestive of the undiluted faith reposed by the government in the progress of India.

“Looming over India’s rise on the global stage will remain schemes like PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana will continue to be a pivotal factor in enhancing the lives of farmers, and consequently ensuring the food security of the people as well as enrolment of all citizens in a more prosperous economic horizon.
