Shimla, February 15: In the Himachal Pradesh Cabinet meeting held here (Shimla) on Saturday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, it was decided to recommend to the Governor to hold the budget session of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly from March 10 to March 28, 2025.

In the meeting, approval was given to provide 60 days special maternity leave to government women employees on the death of a child during delivery or in case of death of newborns.

The Cabinet approved the declaration of pending results of 699 posts of six post codes except ‘tenured’ posts. These include Market Supervisor (Post Code-977), Fireman (Post Code-916), Drawing Master (Post Code-980), Clerk (Himachal Pradesh Secretariat Post Code-962), Lineman (Post Code-971) and Steno Typist (Post Code-928).

The Cabinet approved the upgradation of Sanjauli Police Chowki to Police Station and creation and filling of 20 posts of various categories.

Approval was given in the meeting to open a fire station at Nerwa in Shimla district and to create and fill 17 posts of various categories in it.

The Cabinet approved creation and filling of 09 posts of Tehsildar in the Revenue Department. Approval was given in the meeting to create and fill six posts of various categories in the recently opened Bagi Police Chowki under Kotkhai Police Station in Shimla district.

Approval was given in the meeting to fill three posts of various categories in the Planning Department.

The Cabinet decided to fill three posts of Treasury Officers in the Treasury, Accounts and Lottery Department.

Approval was given in the meeting to open a new Primary Health Centre at Bashil in Solan district and to create and fill three posts of various categories.

Approval was given in the meeting to open a new division of Jal Shakti Department at Kangra in Kangra district and to create and fill the necessary posts.

In the meeting, it was also decided to open a new division of Jal Shakti Department at Jagatkhana in Shri Naina Devi Ji Assembly Constituency of Bilaspur district and to create and fill the necessary posts for its operation.

In the meeting, approval was given to open a new sub-tehsil at Loharghat in Solan district and to create and fill the necessary posts.

In the meeting, approval was given to upgrade 16 sanctioned posts of Assistant Professor to Associate Professor in various departments of Himachal Pradesh Government Dental College Shimla.

Apart from this, in the meeting, approval was also given to start B.Tech (Artificial Intelligence and Data Science) and B.Tech (Computer Science) courses along with creation and filling of eight posts of various categories in Rajiv Gandhi Government Engineering College at Nagarota Bagwan in Kangra district.

In the meeting, approval was given to start B.Tech (Civil Engineering) course in Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Engineering and Technology Institute located at Pragati Nagar in Shimla district along with creation and filling of seven posts of various categories.

The Cabinet approved starting a new diploma course in Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) in Government Polytechnic College, Sundernagar, District Mandi.

The meeting decided to establish a Department of Nuclear Medicine in Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Medical College, Nerchowk, District Mandi.

Besides, the meeting also approved creation and filling of posts of Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Senior Resident Doctor, Nuclear Medicine Technologist and Radiation Safety Officer.

The Cabinet approved filling up the post of Assistant Professor in the Department of Immunohematology and Blood Transfusion under the Department of Pathology, Dr. Y.S. Parmar Government Medical College, District Sirmaur.

The meeting decided to provide full salary to allopathic doctors during study leave in India or abroad.

The Cabinet has decided to classify all 135 police stations of the state into six categories on the basis of parameters like population, area, major crimes, traffic, inter-state borders and movement of tourists.

The deployment of staff in police stations will be revised according to their categories so that the field offices can be strengthened and better services can be provided to the public.

The meeting approved the auction-cum-tender process for recovery of entry tax for the financial year 2025-26, which is likely to generate additional revenue of Rs 11.56 crore as compared to the financial year 2024-25.

Apart from this, the Cabinet decided to implement Fastag facility at all entry toll barriers in the state in a phased manner. In the first phase, this facility will be started at the toll barriers of Garamoda (Bilaspur), Parwanoo (Main) and Tiara Bypass (Solan), Govindghat (Sirmaur), Kandwal (Nurpur), Mehatpur (Una) and Baddi (Solan). The Cabinet decided to reorganize it by including eight Patwar circles of Sadar Tehsil of Bilaspur district in Namhol sub-tehsil.
