I go on Devi darshan to pray for my children & family: Sunita Ahuja’s Spiritual Journey to Himachal
Sunita Ahuja, wife of actor Govinda, recently embarked on her annual spiritual pilgrimage to Himachal Pradesh, a place she holds close to her heart. For Sunita, these visits are not just about paying homage to temples, but an integral part of her spiritual practice where she seeks blessings for the well-being and success of her family. Speaking about her journey, Sunita shared, “I always come to Himachal for Devi darshan. This year, my daughter Tina joined me for one temple visit, and last time, Govinda ji accompanied me too. I’ve visited sacred sites like Naina Devi, Chintpurni, Jwala Ji, Kangra, and Baglamukhi.”
For Sunita, the trip holds a personal significance, as she prays for the health and happiness of her children, Tina and Yash. “I come here to pray for the well-being of my children. I also hope for Yash’s successful debut as an actor,” she expressed. As a mother, she shares a deep bond with spirituality and continues to pass down these values to her children, ensuring they are grounded in faith.
Sunita believes in leading by example. “Both Tina and Yash have been raised with strong spiritual values. I wake up every morning at 3 AM to meditate and pray before 6 AM. Tina also follows this routine and wakes up early for her prayers,” she revealed. “We visit Amritsar once a year, which has been a tradition in our family. Our foundation is rooted in spirituality, and I believe it’s essential for everyone to pray for their health, especially after the pandemic.” She credits this discipline and devotion to her mother and mother-in-law, who ensured that the children remained connected to their religious roots, guiding them in times of uncertainty.
Her annual visit to Himachal has become a ritual she holds dear, having made this spiritual journey every year for the past five years. “I usually begin my Devi darshan trip during Navratri in October. I make it a point to visit all nine goddesses each year, which holds deep meaning for me,” she shared.
Beyond her devotion to spirituality, Sunita encourages her children to work hard and remain focused on their goals. She is a firm believer in the value of perseverance and effort. “I always tell my children that hard work will lead to success. God rewards your efforts. Even in the world of showbiz, success doesn’t come from nepotism—it’s about your dedication,” she emphasized. Sunita proudly adds that Govinda’s success in the industry came through his hard work and the blessings of his mother, which she says is a true testament to how dedication and faith shape one’s destiny.
Her spiritual devotion is not the only aspect of Sunita’s life that shines brightly. She has also developed a fondness for Punjabi cinema. “I absolutely love Punjabi films and music. I watch a lot of Punjabi content on OTT platforms, and I find myself enjoying Punjabi songs more than Hindi ones. When the Punjabi music plays, my shoulders automatically start to move with the beat,” she laughed. Sunita’s love for Punjabi culture is evident, and she embraces it wholeheartedly, often indulging in the music that resonates with her soul.
In all, Sunita Ahuja’s journey reflects the harmony of spirituality, family values, and cultural richness. Her pilgrimage to Himachal not only strengthens her faith but also reaffirms her commitment to keeping her family closely connected to their roots while navigating life in the fast-paced modern world.
