Hamirpur, February 13: Tensions erupted between traders and administrative officials in Hamirpur city on Thursday during an anti-encroachment drive on Mall Road. The conflict began when a team of Tehsildar and Municipal Corporation officials instructed shopkeepers to clear goods placed on the road’s drainage area. In response, local traders voiced their frustrations, creating a chaotic scene as the administration pushed forward with the enforcement.

Traders Protest Administration’s Move

The traders expressed their concerns, asserting that they only place goods up to the designated white strip to avoid causing inconvenience to customers, while still sustaining their businesses. They argued that the proposed removal of goods from the road drain would severely impact their sales, especially with the already limited space in the market.
