Sri Naina Devi temple complex will be beautified in three phases, 100 crores will be spent: CM Sukhu

Shimla, 09 February: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has announced the beautification of Naina Devi Ji temple complex at a cost of Rs 100 crore. He said that its beautification will be done in three phases. He said that along with Sri Naina Devi Ji temple, the state government will also beautify Maa Chintapurni temple, Maa Jwalamukhi temple and Baba Balak Nath temple. Other temples will also be beautified in the coming time. He announced the opening of a division of Public Works Department and Jal Shakti Department in Jagatkhana of Sri Naina Devi Ji assembly constituency as well as opening a sub-tehsil in Namhol. He assured to provide Rs eight crore to complete the remaining work of 50-bed hospital in Sri Naina Devi Ji as well as financial amount to construct an indoor stadium in Jukhaala.
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu during his one-day visit to District Bilaspur today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 13 developmental projects worth Rs 127.09 crore for Shri Naina Devi Ji Assembly Constituency. The Chief Minister inaugurated the additional building of the Public Works Department’s Rest House Namhol constructed at a cost of Rs 2.54 crore, matting and tarring of the remaining work of Dolra to Bagh Mehla link road at a cost of Rs 3.69 crore, Gohari to Sayar link road constructed at a cost of Rs 2.85 crore, Galwa to Chalela link road constructed at a cost of Rs 4.92 crore, upgradation of Dioth Lag Ghat Jamli road at a cost of Rs 5.25 crore, lift drinking water project prepared at a cost of Rs 3.01 crore for partially covered settlements under Gram Panchayat Nakrana and surrounding villages under Jal Jeevan Mission, veterinary hospital constructed at a cost of Rs 49 lakh for Swarghat and arrival hall constructed at Shri Naina Devi Ji Bus Station at a cost of Rs 3 crore.
The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of the multipurpose indoor stadium to be constructed at Government College Jukhaala at a cost of Rs 8.96 crore, improvement and upgradation work of Navgaon Beri road at a cost of Rs 79.25 crore, upgradation of Shri Naina Devi sewerage project at a cost of Rs 3.10 crore, reconstruction of lift irrigation project in Malothi Samog of Tehsil Sadar at a cost of Rs 5.43 crore and improvement work of flow irrigation project in Majri of Shri Naina Devi Ji Tehsil at a cost of Rs 4.60 crore.
Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh said that Rs 80 crore will be spent on strengthening the Navgaon-Beri road, the work of which will start soon. He said that the state government is making every effort to speed up development. He said that the Congress is ensuring uniform development of the entire state without any discrimination because the entire state is the same for the Congress. The state government will not allow any shortage in the development of Shri Naina Devi Assembly constituency. He said that an estimate of Rs 3 crore is ready to widen the road leading to the temple and it will be strengthened in the coming time.
Former Minister Ram Lal Thakur welcomed the Chief Minister in Shri Naina Devi Assembly constituency and said that the Central Government is also holding back the rights of Himachal Pradesh. The Central Government did not give a special economic package on the lines of Gujarat and Uttarakhand for the losses incurred during the disaster. But the Chief Minister has healed the wounds of the affected people with the resources of the state. The compensation given by the state government in case of complete damage to the house was increased from Rs 1.30 lakh to Rs 7 lakh. He said that the Chief Minister is always ready to listen to the poor, farmers and women. He said that work is going on on projects worth crores of rupees in Shri Naina Devi Assembly constituency.
On this occasion, former MLAs Tilak Raj and Bamber Thakur, Congress leaders Vivek Kumar and Vikas Thakur, media advisor of JICA project Rajeshwar Thakur along with senior party leaders, Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr. Nidhi Patel, SP Sandeep Dhawal and other dignitaries were present.
