Major Drug Bust in Manipur: Suspect Nabbed with ₹1 Crore Worth Brown Sugar

At Kwakta Pangal Lamkhai, close to Anita STD High School in the Bishnupur district, Manipur police commandos, working with central forces, detained suspected drug smugglers Thursday in a significant anti-smuggling operation. A mobile phone, a four-wheeler, and 1041 grams of brown sugar were seized as a result of the operation.

The confiscated things were taken into custody along with the accused, who was identified as Md. Tajuddin, a 29-year-old resident of Lilong Litan Makhong. The Phougakchao Ikhai Police Station has been given the suspect and the evidence for additional examination.

Another win in the state’s battle against drug trafficking was achieved when authorities confirmed that a case under the NDPS Act 1985 had been filed against the accused.
