Rohru: Fraud of lakhs of rupees with investors, company locks office after embezzling money
Shimla, 07 February: A case of major fraud with investors has come to light in Rohru. By luring investors with huge profits, a company has defrauded them of more than Rs 4 lakh. The directors of the company have absconded after embezzling the money of the investors. There is anger among the investors due to this incident.
According to the information, Anil Kumar, a resident of Chaupal, Shimla, has lodged a complaint with the police that he and 15 other people together had invested an amount of Rs 4,27,850 in a company called Pego Finance India Nidhi Limited under the monthly deposit scheme. This company was located in Shaktinagar, Rohru. The company had lured investors with attractive interest rates, due to which a large number of people had invested in it.
Company office closed
Complainant Anil Kumar said that in September 2024, the company suddenly closed its office. When the investors reached the office to withdraw their deposits, they found it locked. After this, the investors tried to contact the company’s managers, but they were also missing.
Managers accused of fraud
In his complaint, Anil Kumar has accused the company’s manager Virendra Kishore and managing director (MD) Gurpreet Singh of fraud. He said that both of them misled the investors and committed fraud with the intention of grabbing their deposited capital. He also alleged that when he contacted the company’s managers, they started evading and did not return the investors’ money.
Rohru police have registered a case under sections 318 (4) and 61 (2) of the Indian Justice Code on the basis of Anil Kumar’s complaint. A police officer said that strict action will be taken against the accused and efforts will be made to get the investors’ money back. At present, the police is searching for the accused and the company’s financial condition is also being investigated.
There is a lot of anger among the investors due to this incident. They have demanded the police to arrest the accused soon and get their deposits back. The investors say that they had invested their hard-earned money in this company and now they have suffered huge losses.
