Solan, February 2: A unique case has come to light in Himachal Pradesh, where cockfight took the form of a real fight between humans. The matter escalated so much that it reached the police, but the interesting thing was that instead of blaming any one party, the police declared it a ‘draw’. Because cross FIRs have been lodged by both the parties.

The incident took place at Kargil Ground in Solan city, where a fierce clash broke out between two groups over cockfight. During the fight, the situation worsened so much that instead of the cocks, a scuffle broke out between their owners.

According to Aman, a resident of Adarsh Nagar, he had gone to watch cockfight in the ground, where two teams were formed – one team was led by Amar and the other team was led by Rajendra Singh. Aman’s team’s cock won the fight, but Rajendra Singh’s team got angry over this. During this, youths named Rinku and Saavan caught Aman and beat him, due to which he got injured. On Aman’s complaint, the police registered a case under Section 115(2), 118(1), and 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code.

The story does not end here

On the other hand, Vishal, a resident of Ward No. 7, also lodged a complaint with the police. He said that he had gone to watch the fight with his friend Saavan. Saavan’s cock won, but Amar and his team Ram, Ravit and Prince were not ready to accept the result. The dispute escalated and it reached to a scuffle. Vishal alleges that Aman and Prince attacked him, due to which he got injured. On this, Vishal also lodged a case with the police under Section 118(1), 115(2), 3(5) of the Indian Penal Code.

What is the police doing now?

The police have filed a cross FIR on the basis of complaints from both the parties and have started investigation. The police are recording the statements of all the witnesses and are trying to solve the entire case.

However, this matter which started with cockfight has now turned into a fight between humans. Forgetting the spirit of the game, people started fighting, which led to a dispute instead of entertainment. Now it remains to be seen who wins the ‘real’ victory in this case – the law, or anger.
