Himachal Weather: Possibility of rain and snowfall in next two days, thunderstorm and lightning alert in 10 districts
Shimla, 03 February: The mood of the weather may change in Himachal Pradesh. There is a possibility of rain and snowfall in the state on February 4 and 5 due to the effect of western disturbance. During this time, there is a possibility of snowfall in the hilly areas and rain in the plains. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of thunderstorm and lightning in 10 districts except Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur on February 4.The minimum temperature in the state has been continuously falling for the last few days. Although on Monday, people got some relief from the bright sunshine in Shimla, Manali and other hill stations, but the cold winds kept the feeling of cold. According to the Meteorological Center Shimla, the western disturbance is likely to become active from this evening itself, due to which the weather may remain bad for the next two days.
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the western disturbance is becoming active over the Himalayan region. Due to this, there may be rain and snowfall in the state on February 4 and 5. During this time, there is a possibility of heavy snowfall in the high altitude areas, which may increase the cold further. Apart from this, there may be rain with thunder in the plains and mid-mountain areas.
On February 4, there will be a danger of strong thunderstorms and lightning in 10 districts of the state. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in these districts and appealed to the people to be cautious. Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur have been kept out of this alert, but roads may be disrupted in these areas due to snowfall. The state is waiting for the clouds to rain for the last several days. In the month of January, there has been 80 percent less rainfall than normal. Farmers and gardeners are upset due to the indifference of the weather and they are worried about the drying of crops and fruits.
Minimum temperature drops, cold wave continues to wreak havoc
Cold continues to wreak havoc at night in Himachal Pradesh. The minimum temperature in most parts of the state remains below or around zero. Especially in Lahaul-Spiti and Kinnaur districts, there is severe cold.
According to the data of the last 24 hours, the average minimum temperature of the state has dropped by 0.4 degrees. Kukumseri of Lahaul-Spiti was the coldest place in the state where the minimum temperature was recorded at -9.8 degrees Celsius on Monday. Similarly, the minimum temperature in Tabo was -9.3 degrees, in Keylong -8.3 degrees and in Kalpa -0.5 degrees. The minimum temperature in Manali was recorded at 0.7 degrees Celsius, which has reached close to zero. On the other hand, the temperature in Shimla increased as compared to the past days and the minimum temperature here was recorded at 6.2 degrees Celsius. This is 2.2 degrees more than normal, due to which the cold has reduced a bit at night.
Relief in the day but cold will shiver at night
Meanwhile, Shimla and Manali and other hill stations had good sunshine on Monday, due to which the weather remained pleasant during the day. But due to cold winds, people could not get complete relief. According to meteorologists, despite sunshine, the temperature may fall rapidly at night and the cold wave will continue.
