Under the Railway Budget, a plan has been made to build 50 new Namo Bharat trains, 200 new Vande Bharat trains and 1000 new flyovers and underpasses. Himachal’s rail projects will get momentum

The expansion of railway network in Himachal Pradesh has always been a challenge due to the geographical conditions of the state. However, the central government is now working fast in this direction. The amount of Rs 2716 crore allocated for the rail projects of Himachal in the budget for the financial year 2025-26 is much higher than in previous years.

A large part of this budget has been kept for the Bhanupalli-Bilaspur-Beri rail project.

This project is considered very important from a strategic point of view as it will also facilitate the movement of the Indian Army. Apart from this, the work of Nangal Dam-Talwara rail project and Chandigarh-Baddi rail line will also be expedited.

The Chandigarh-Baddi rail line is being constructed especially to promote industrial activities, which will strengthen trade between Himachal and Haryana.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that four railway stations in Himachal Pradesh will be developed as Amrit Stations. Under the Amrit Station Scheme, railway stations will be modernized, in which special attention will be given to state-of-the-art facilities, cleanliness and passenger amenities.
